Switching Displays on the fly

I switch to TV display pretty often (where both my monitor and TV are on), it usually takes about a minute or so to switch back and forth, that's too long for the lazy man 😛. Is there anyway with the click of a button switch from 1280x1024 @ 100hz (single display) to 1024x768 150hz (dual display, both monitor and TV)? What's the program i'm looking for? Thanks.

If you were running nVidia, you could have this as simp as right clicking the desktop and clicking the setting. Sorry to threadcrap, but i have no clue how to do it with ATI cards. Sorry.

But free bump for you.

I don't own an ATI card, but I'm investigating whether their multi-display features will satisfy me, coming from nVidia. According to the X800 User Manual (page 9, "ATI Displays Tab"), you can save a particular multi-display configuration, including one that uses a TV, under a "scheme", then switch between schemes with a hot key. The manual doesn't make it clear whether a "scheme" can include refresh rate information for the involved displays.

You're using a 9800 Pro. The 9800 series User Manual (http://www2.ati.com/manuals/RADEON9800a.pdf ) doesn't textually discuss schemes, but it does include a screenshot virtually identical to the one in the X800 User Manual discussion of schemes (in the 9800 manual, see page 7, "ATI Displays Tab").

Look in the control center profiles section, from there you can select any or all of your current settings to be included in a profile and activated by a hotkey combo, taskbar menu, or deskop shortuct.

Ah, thanks. I kinda knew about that before but didn't know that i had to have the ATI desktop icon thing up for it to work, anyways, working like a charm now. Thanks again
