switching carriers though Amazon Wireless?

Anyone have any experience switching carriers with Amazon Wireless? I'm currently an ATT customer and I would like to make the jump to Verizon. I still haven't picked out a phone yet, but I'm leaning on the Droid Inc2. It's about $120 cheaper on Amazon Wireless for new customers...

I switched from att to verizon last november. I experienced no problems. After I received the phone from amazon, I called verizon with the 800 included with the phone to port my number. When I bought the phone amazon couldn't port numbers into verizon. It took about 5 minutes from dialing the number to having the number activated.

Me too. Amazon sent me a phone with a new number, so I just called in the port request when it arrived.

This is the *second* best way to get a new device: Costco's 90 day device switch policy is probably the best (no worries about that superphone around the corner), though they don't discount as much.

membershipwireless.com is the web version of Costco's cell phone deals. You don't need to be a member to order from them. They offer the same 90 days return policy. Howerver after the first 30 days you would have to switch to a device on the the same network as you can only terminate the wireless acount within the first 30 days.
