Switching Between Wireless and Wired LAN

Hey guys,

In my desktop computer, I have an interated gigabit ethernet card that I use to connect to my school network about 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, I use my 802.11b wireless PCI card to connect. To switch, I have been disabeling my wired ethernet and enabling the wireless card in the hardware manager. Is this safe/good for my hardware? Is there a better way to switch between the two? Thanks.

it is perfectly safe to disable your devices.

but (unless it's a weird situation and i dont know about it), there is no reason to..

your computer should use whatever connection is available.
