Switching between sources with studio monitors

I have an HTPC and a DirecTV receiver, and want to get some studio monitors for my setup.

What options do I have in switching between the HTPC and receiver for the speakers? I was thinking I could output the receiver into the line-in port of the pc and then output to the speakers from there?

You'll still need some sort of amp to amplify the signal coming out of the PC. Might as well just get a cheap stereo receiver if surround sound isn't needed.

Studio monitors have amps built in to them and don't require an external amp.

Something like this should do the trick assuming you're using the RCA pre outs from the devices and not a digital output.
