I am trying to achieve something rather unusual.
There are two computers and two monitors (1 LCD 1 CRT).
The primary machine is always hooked up to the big WS LCD and does not need a secondary screen (used for 3d gaming, watching videos, web browsing etc)
The secondary machine is hooked up to both the LCD and the CRT, the CRT being the main and the LCD getting an occasinoal use when the primary machine is not being used.
As I try to achieve this simple task of monitor switching, I need to activate the LCD control panel and switch input, which takes at least good 5-6 clicks. I dont want to get a full-blown KVM solely for this and that would be much more than just an overkill.
Undoubtedely, I could definitely live without it; I would imagine switching to happen only so often. Still, it wont hurt to find an easier way to do this if possible. Maybe it could be done in software?
