Hey everyone, I know I'm missing something simple for this not to work.

I switched from my wireless connection which was dropping the connection frequently. I basically wired the connection to my PC into the ethernet connection that came with the motherboard (my first time testing it). See below:

Basically - it's not working. What should I do? Any help would be great.

A motherboard with typically comes with a CD full of drivers, one of them being the ethernet driver. Did you install the ethernet drive?

Besides drivers, you may have to enable the onboard nic in the bios. You may also have to run the setup wizard to set up the connection on it.

Yes to BOTH the previous responses - check those! I recently did a re-install of XP Pro and my internet connection would not work at all. After much probing with my ISP's Tech Support guy on the phone, he directed me through Settings ... Control Panel ... System ... Device Manager ... where it was obvious a whole bunch of items were not working. Flash of embarassing insight - I had not re-installed the drivers from the CD that came with the mobo!!!
