Dunno if this is placebo. I feel better. I'm thinking it's because my tap is full of metals and stuff. My building was building in the 50's. It does taste noticbly different from the purified water. Am i on to something? I'm wondering if the switch had an effect

Bottled water is ridiculously wasteful and supports an evil industry.

Get an under sink filter system and a water pitcher. Just make sure the pitcher seals or the water picks up all the tastes from the fridge.

Went from the individual bottled water to the 5 gallon jug setup....did the Nestle brand water for both....

The 5 gallon jug water just tastes better...

ZERO WATER FILTER

Go to Walmart and compare the ZERO WATER FILTER to a Brita, the zero weighs 8 times the Brita.
It includes a testing device to analyze the dissolved solids.

Which evil industry are you referring to?

The water bottling industry. More specifically, Nestle. (they pretty much own all of it). They drain lakes and rivers for practically free and take away drinking water from cities. They even outbid cities on water sources which stops those cities from being able to use that water for their own use. During droughts, they will continue to pump millions of gallons of water while everyone else is told to reduce their usage. Nestle also believes water should be a commodity and not a right.

i dont know of the latest developments of water filtration but, as i recall from a few years ago, filtered water is essentially worse than tap water. the filter contaminates the water it "purifies", and unless you got some ghastly undrinkable much coming out of you taps, you are better off than using a brita.

I had a water filtration company guy come try to sell me on his whole-house filtration system (here). He did a test-tube test through my faucet and showed me all the chlorine we injest (and shower with) with our tap (municipal) water. In the end I wasn't willing to pay $3k for the system and he said if nothing else, at least keep using the refrigerator carbon filter rather than straight tap as that filter still takes out the chlorine and whatever else. He also said another option is a cheaper reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink at least for drinking and cooking. It runs super slow however.

The worst is the unregulated bottled water industry - Poland Spring, Evian, doesn't matter. Since we drink a lot of water including on trips, we only do the bottled Poland Spring when we're away (it's convenient) but the fridge filter at home.
