I just moved my build into a haf xb case, and when I plugged it into the wall and pressed power, I heard a shock and the power led dimmed out , now it wont even turn on, but sometimes pressing power makes the fans move a little then stop, even the gpu fan. I'm really hoping its the psu, but I have no idea what to do and im panicking

Update- when I unplug the atx power connector, plug it back in and press the power button, the fans spin and the led goes on for a moment then stops
-just reset the cmos, basically the same thing happens, the fans spin and led goes on but stops and no post

It was a faulty hdd, as soon as the power connector touches it the computer shuts off, but that is the hdd with my os on it, any ideas how to fix it?

Hello dragantoe, I hate to tell you you're "screwed," but .....

At least the motor is toast. You could pay a data recovery company a thousand or so (just guessing) to recover important data, but even then you have to hope the Actuator Arm didn't crash into (one of) the platter(s), which would severely limit the amount of data that can be recovered.

Hopefully you have good backups and "only" need to go through the hassle of installing on a new drive.
