Ive been using BBA x800 pro for quite sometime time and was overall pleased with it. I recently got my hands on a bfg 6800 gt oc and decided to give it a try, I was going to just trade it. Installation was a snap, and the card even has cool blue lights on the fan. the second I started playing my games I noticed a difference. If all you guys out there told me the 6800 gt was that much faster than than the X800 I wouldnt have believed you. From first hand experience I will now tell people .

Enjoy Farcry with HDR and Sprinter Cell 3 with SM3.0path and HDR 😉
It is strange you saw a difference, they should perform very close.

That's great but now you'll have to wait 6 months for nVidia WHQL driver updates. ATI cards get a monthly Catalyst driver update. You shoulda bought a Sapphire or PwerColor Radeon X800 Pro with VIVO and soft-modded it to a X800XT PE like I did. Enjoy your card.🙂

Or he can get almost weekly XG "beta" drivers and use those. I have been recently experimenting with them and love it, currently running 71.84's and got a little boost in 3D mark05. They are beta which is annoying, but I have yet to have any bugs crop up so I can't complain.

The cool part about that BFG GT is that it can probably be overclocked to past a ultra in speed, I have my BFG 6800GT at 420/1110 and I know it can go higher. Probably even give your X800 XT PE a run for it's money. 😉

Agree, XG drivers are the best out there. When WHQL ones are out I will still wait to the XG version of it...

dont get me wrong guys. I definately like the x800 but I was surprised at the qaulity of the 6800, especially after all the horror that happend with the fx series. The only application that the GT owns the X800 is Doom 3, and it really does. At 1280 x1024 Ulta quality No AA, 16AF the GT pulls 73 fps verse 57 with the X800. when I enable 4X AA the Gt drops to 53 fps and the X800 goes to 35

WHQL certification appears to be a nice marketing gimick. I wouldnt worry about the certification. Case in point is several revisions of the 3.x catalysts were WHQL but hard locked HL when you tried to exit.

WHQL? Whoopie do!
