Switch plates to match marble backsplash

One of the final things I need for my kitchen remodel to be complete is to finalize the switch plates. The contractor put in some plain white plastic switch plates on most of the outlets / switches. I still have an exposed 3 switch bank. I'm having trouble figuring out some decent switch plates that would match. The current white ones work fine, they just look / feel a bit cheap considering everything else is pretty nice. I'm including pics of flooring / cabs and whatnot to get a sense of the whole thing. The backsplash is Calacatta Gold style specifically, so there are some browns and whatnot throughout.

They make stainless steel switch plates, but you would need to swap the switches to black or they look stupid. Personally I'd stick with the white, looks just fine.

Nice looking kitchen. Is that a leather finished countertop? (hard to tell the texture from the pics)

Yes, the white ones do look fine as is. We will probably finish off the white if we can't find something else suitable.

Thank you, I made a thread about it during planning last year and I plan to post pictures when it is 100% complete. It is a leathered granite countertop. Easiest to see in the 2nd pic I suppose. We really love it. There are other leathered textures out there but this one we liked the best. It is really nice to touch, plus the other side was finished in a more traditional smooth finish so there is no rough stuff underneath to dirty / scrap your pants on the kitchen island.

How hard is it to keep clean? My wife really liked the look of leather finish but eventually decided against it. She reasoned the little nooks and crannies of the leather finish would attract dirt and be hard to clean. We do alot of cooking and food preparation at home.

You can buy Calacatta Gold marble switch plate covers at amazon.

What worries me about stone switch plates is shattering them from screwing them in / bumping them. Seems to be a problem based on those reviews as well, definitely can consider it though.

We actually got it for that exact reason, it has a more rustic / homestyle feeling to it, it cleans really easy and hides stuff really well and is more of a matte / natural finish and not super polished. I find that polished surfaces are way harder to maintain the looks of and keep looking clean. This is pretty darn easy to clean, and keep looking clean and maintain. Even if it is a bit dirty it still looks awesome. Whereas on a properly polished stone surface I can spot that crumbly bit / sauce leftover a mile away.

The texture of this particular stone is not "nook and cranny" but more "shallow, smooth valleys", nowhere for stuff to really settle in there and get caught, everything just wipes away. I saw a nook and cranny type and we did not like it compared to this. We feel you on the cleaning and food prep and we have been super happy with these so far. We actually made pretzels around that specific corner of the counters from the pics 2 nights ago, so that area was totally covered in flour. We basically only wiped it off with a couple paper towels and a disinfecting lysol wipe. We haven't "cleaned" that area since, let alone properly clean it yet(which we didn't do in the first place after the pretzels).

We did this many years ago, so I don't know if you can still get them. We bought switch and outlet cover plates made of clear plastic at a paint / wallpaper store. They are made so you can cut a piece of wallpaper, with pattern positioned to match exactly what surrounds the switch box, and insert it into the back of the cover. When mounted, it surrounds the switch or outlet with an exact match to the wallpapered wall. IF you could find those, then you need a really good copy of the marble surrounding pattern. Maybe you could photograph it, adjust its magnification to the exact size of the real backsplash, and use a color printed copy of that as the pattered paper to trim and fit into the plastic cover.

We went with these wrinkle white stainless ones. The color looks good enough and the overall look / feel is matte. There is an eggshell texture on them which I really like. The only change I had to make was to replace an old switch with a rocker due to the configurations they offered. You can see our grayish paint in the first pic which is in our dining room and hallway outside the kitchen / dining room.

Just realized that I didn't line up the screws on that one switch plate! I'll have to get them all symmetrical ASAP. Those antlers are pretty good, might fit better in my brother's house.
