I bought a new switch to replace the router I was using in my home network. Right now I have it setup like this. I have a Cable Modem plugged into the WAN port of a Netgear WPN824 RangeMax Wireless Router, which is configured with all the default settings and then a Netgear GS608 8 port switch plugged into one of its lan ports and all the computers are plugged into that. If I connect wirelessly to the router I have access to the internet but I cannot see any of the other computers connected to the switch. None of the computers on the switch have internet access. The status light on the switch for the cable connected for the router is lit but is solid (no blinking). The same goes for the light on the router. Does anyone have any insights as to why this isn't working?

Thanks,
Justin

The GS608 has cosmetics which can sometimes interfere with the connection when using cables with large connectors. So try switching cables or shoving in the cable in further.

You can also try rebooting the switch by power cycling it.

Next step could be to try changing ports to see if all or just some ports / connections are faulty.

The manual does not state which port is best or the only one to use to feed a switch.
On some routers, LAN Port 4 is used to feed the switch. You should try moving the
cable to the switch to the other ports and see if it works. You may also have a bad
cable to the switch. Your router is autosensing and will detect if a regular or crossover
cable is used and adjust itself accordingly.
