Switch Hard Drive controller from a Seagate - any ideas?

I am looking to switch a circuit board from a Seagate Barracuda - ST3320620AS 320 gig - Firmware 3.AAC, P/N 9BJ14G-300. Do I need this exact firmware and p/n number for the switch to work? I do have the DRIVER for the 3.AAC firmware
