Switch from XP to 98se

I have one of my partitons with XP on it, but I'd like to remove XP and put 98se on there. How can I successfully:

a) uninstall XP
b) have XP removed from the boot menu

I can handle the installation of 98se as per the FAQ at AT (my other partition is 2k)
