SWITCH for XBOX and Computer? (Have Verizon)

I have a netgear switch ive had for sometime sitting in a box here. I want to hook both my xbox and pc up to the dsl modem. I have Verizon dsl. Is using a switch at all possible or will i be charged for a 2nd ip? Or is that only when using 2 pcs attached to a switch and not a pc and xbox

Without a lot of manual configuration (which I'm not good at) or using Windows ICS, a switch won't do you much good
