Hey I am hoping to switch from Comcast to Fios soon. I notice the default ip address for the Fios router is the same as my Asus router. I assume im going to have to reset/reinstall the Asus router. My question is as far as my Synology Nas server and media players and ps3 am i going to have to change ip on every device?

Depends entirely on how your home network is configured.

Are internal addresses handed out by DHCP?

Will you be having tv/DVR service through FIOS or just internet? FIOS TV requires a moca ethernet solution so you would either need a moca bridge or to use the FIOS router to atleast act as a bridge for your tv service. If you want to use the FIOS router, which IMO the newer router's performance and stability is vastly improved, the GUI is a bit cumbersome until you get used to it just swap the two router's out but make sure there's nothing static in your 192.168.1.100-105 range as the DVR's will be receiving these via DHCP.

Yes. I am going to get the triple play. right before they install i guess i should set everything to DHCP. Once the install is done then switch to static ip. Man i really need to catch up on my network knowledge.
