Switch and auto-sensing....are they the same?

Not sure what you mean, but...

An autosensing hub will support either 10 or 100 megabit ethernet connections at half duplex. Switches perform autonegotiation. I think there is a difference. Most all switches support 10/100, half or full duplex.
