Ok I just recieved this watch and it's totally sweet, but the battery is dead and it doesn't work :(. So instead of going through the hassle of shipping it around and stuff I just want to take it to the local kmart and have them pop a new battery in. Swiss Army says it's not a good idea to take it anywhere but an authorized dealer. Does it really matter? I'd rather pay the kmart joe blow a few bucks and save myself time and money.

Go to a proper jewellers. Doesn't cost much. Some would probably be authorised anyway.

If the watch is rated for use underwater you might have to take it to a jeweller, other wise you can just pop off the cover with a fine flat head screwdriver.

Huh? It says made in switzerland on the back of the watch. Yeah it is for underwater use. I know swiss army has a 3 year warranty but i'm not sure if that counts because I bought it off overstock.com? I'm not really worried about the warranty if it's just a cheap battery.
