Swimmers - Ear Pain?

I used to swim a lot and have been trying to get back into it.

When I was in the pool I got really bad pain in both ears. It was so bad I had to stop and it only went away after about 30 minutes later.

This happened a few months ago and I just figured it was a weird one-off thing, but I went back yesterday and the same thing happened.....starts after about 10 minutes of swimming.

I looked up online and came across 'swimmer's ear' but that seems to be a continuous pain rather than just occuring when you are in the water.

Anyone have any ideas?

Swimmer's ear sucks. I used to get it all the time when I was a kid. I finally started putting a couple of drops of rubbing alcohol in my ears each night and it prevented it from happening again. The alcohol dries all the water out of your ears and prevents the infection. It's really painful if you let it go. Trust me, go see a doctor.

I grew up in Florida and practically spent my first 15 years in the water.

Id use ear plugs and also call a doctor and ask them what it might be. Could be something like the Chlorine causing issues or whatever. Does it just happen as soon as you get wet or from being under the water more than a couple inches or what?
