i have a question about these heatsinks, is it safe to have that much weight on your socket im worrired about it ripping my socket off of my mother board.

I use one but it's really heavy. There are better alternatives out there now like the Thermalright XP-90, it weighs half as much as the MCX462-V and performs even better.
