Swiftech MCP355 pump running very hot

I have the Swiftech MCP355 pump with EK top in my loop but it seems to be running really hot...where I can't leave my finger on for more than 1sec on certain parts of it.

Is this normal?

mine runs hot also, i've been told by the guys at XS that its fine. i even have that vibration dampening material attached to the bottom to mine. still working for 5 months.
