I want to ditch my thermoengine with delta fan (too loud without equal for the noise performance). So I am considering these two options:

a)The Swiftech MC462A with the stock Sunon fan (80*80mm 53CFM, 45dbA, 4600rpm) from www.ucdweb.com for 119 including shipping

b)The Taisol 760 with either the YS-Tech fan (60mm 26CFM) or with the Sunon fan (80*80 23CFM) , or with the stock delta fan (60*60mm 21CFM 31dbA) from www.coolerguys.com for 57(ystech) ,57(sunon), 50(stock) including shipping.

In your answer please consider the noise each of the fan makes. Can someone scale them from the most loud to the less one? Also the same for performance.

Thanks

I appreciate your answer MrHelpfull but please don't post any prices because I live in Greece and therefore International shipping must be available. Those are the two best offers I could get for my situation. The Taisol is within my budget definately. As for the MC462A I could get it from the www.swiftnets.com for 107 but it ships in 2-3 weeks and I can't wait that long for on 12 dollar cut. So is it worth the price?

DarkAngel thanks for answering but what about the noise. The site says 45 dbA... this is louder than my delta 7k. How can this be? (it's only 4600rpm). Does it have to do with the 80mm? I thought these fans were bigger so that for less rpm they could push the same cfm with louder models. Someone on this ...?

CrazyPC has the Swiftech MC462-A's in stock now, $79.99 (also have the bare heatsink cheaper, if you want to use another fan?) - also, they appear to have some Rheostats to go with them. Not sure if these are Rev 1 or not...

That's right, but the 60mm 7k RPM Delta is about 38CFM. That 80mm is like 65...

depends if you need it to overclock
tomshardware . com has a good heatsink review, might want to check it out.
personally if the heatsink costs as much a duron 800, it may be time to stop and think ;D

<< Or can I ditch this fan with another with less noise and equal performance? >>

The Delta 80MM fan is LOUD! Not as whiny as the 60mm, but still way too loud for my liking. Slowing it down with a rheostat helps, but you can still hear it growling. I grabbed a 80mm ADDA fan (33 CFM) and you can barely hear it (quieter than the 10x60mm Delta that Taisol uses!) and it STILL cools better than the other HSF's! Very well made, easy to install/remove, although initially you must remove the mainboard. Well worth it.

Cheers!
