Swiftech MC-370, my new best friend....smothers the WBK (Delta) using only a Y.S.Tech....and beats the Taisol CGK too :o)

yeah, i have the mc370, it is one helluva hsf. but i hate the delta, i am going to make a 120mm blowhole on the side of my case and make a shroud to the cpu...

You got one with a Delta? Mine came with a quieter and less annoying Papst, but I took that off as well. Running a much more silent Y.S.Tech proved to be almost as good (because the temperatures were so low so the exponential decay curve started leveling out) and is still a bit of an overkill 🙂.

Which taisol did he compare it to, the one with or without the copper insert? Also, the taisol's stock fan is only 21.6 cfm. Weather it has the copper or not, the comparison should be with the same fans.

I compared it to the CGK742092, the one WITHOUT the copper insert. I'm aware that the Taisol fan is 21cfm, but the Sunon that I used tested the Swiftech MC-370 with is only 23cfm so the temperatures are very comparable. Maybe a fraction of a degree, but nothing more.

Maverick2002,
BTW, nice review. If you have an Alpha 6035 lying around, can you try the Alpha shroud on the MC-370 and see if you get better results sucking away from the heatsink. I have a feeling it may cool 1-2 °C better like this since the design seems to be similar to the Alpha. I've got the MC-370 coming tomorrow(as long as UPS delivers on time) so I'll give it a shot if you can't. I just hope the shroud will fit.
