Linus Tech Tips
- Very impressive selection of high quality components
- The pump is very quiet
- Flagship performance for an AIO, only beaten by Kraken X61
- Upgradeability

TechPowerUp - 9.9 / 10
- "Swiftech has really outdone themselves with the H220-X. They have taken a kit whose separate parts would have cost in excess of $200 and reduced its price down to a mere $140. While high, what you get is simply amazing as it tops the charts and takes the performance crown to boot.Winning our benchmarks is no small feat, and Swiftech's AIO managed to do so while being surprisingly quiet, which is just fantastic."

- Full 10dB quieter than the worse performing Corsair H105

- Swiftech H220-X video evidence full run WPrime 1024m CPU Stability Test, i7 4790K CPU at 4900Mhz 1.405v, hits 79c!
- Corsair H105 cannot cope with a similar overclock.

I am really impressed by this cooler. This is a strong contender for someone going LGA2011-3 and not wanting to go custom loop. It will probably allow for some solid overclocks on Intel's 5000 series 6- and 8-core CPUs!

The base block is already lapped.

I am going to strongly consider one of these for my next build especially if it drops to $110-120 over time.

I'm seriously looking at this for my upgrade.

Soo many choices and then case compatibility issues but this one seems to offer the best performance.

I'm considering a new case to accommodate it.

Possibly the Corsair 450D since i'm limited with what I can do in my 690 II unless I mount on bottom of the case towards the front.

Slightly more expensive in my neck of the woods

We need a round-up against the H320 since the pricing is so close :)

Even the original Swiftech H220 was beastly. Look at this:

Have you considered this NZHT 440 case?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-148-_-Product
comes in black too
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...146149&cm_re=nzxt_case-_-11-146-149-_-Product

You get 3x 120mm fans at the front to cool the GPUs, enough room to mount 2x140 / 3x120 at the top.

I agree would love to see a CLC round up with 240,280,360 rads with push and pull configurations tested tested on Haswell E.

Then a follow up review to replace all the stock fans on the rads with higher quality ones :)

The H220 has great numbers but some quality control issues with the pump failing at least in the first batches.

I heard the cooler master version of the h220 didn't have any of these issues!

I've been following this cooler for so long and happy to see it released to good reviews, my only reservations are a 280 version is supposed to come out "2-3 months later" with no plans for a 360 version yet...but.....

Introducing:

http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/water-cooling/s36

Basically its a expandable 360 AIO using AlphaCool parts and the same fully standard G 1/4" thread fittings that h220x offers.

My only personal negative is those darn ribbed tubes. I hate that look, but then again it should be replaceable at least, but you just can't beat more radiator space, especially if you do expand. I will throw in seeing swiftechs support on their forums encourages me to buy with them though, they seem to be a top notch customer service company.

I am glad there are serious improvements happening in the AIO space with Fractal and Swiftech because Corsair and other firms seems to have stalled. And with Noctua NH-D15 barely outperforming my old Thermalright Silver Arrow, it's hard to swallow paying $100 for an air cooler when for $30-40 more a top notch AIO will blow it away, otherwise I could just buy a $10-15 LGA2011-3 kit for my Thermalright if considering X99 upgrade.

the unit uses an apogee type waterblock.

of course its gonna perform well.

Compared to the cheap cold plates other AIO's use, swiftech is the closest u'll get to a high performance cold plate, in an AIO package.

I actually prefer the original Swiftech H220 since its design allows push pull. Understandably Swiftech had to go with the current design due to Asetek being a jerk about their design patents.

You can get one push fan on there I think...if that makes anyone slightly happier haha.

From what i'm seeing so far many are saying this is a Low FPI rad and doesn't need fans in push pull to perform well.

doesnt matter if its low fpi or not.... push/pull always yields better temps.
It allows u to cheat static.

And compared to a XSPC or Thermochill radiator, its not low FPI.
Id say more along the lines of mid fpi.

But for a radiator to be effective and have a low FPI, it needs to be thick...

agreed its better but by how much.

Most of the time its a 2-3c difference from what i've seen so not really that drastic.

For me that difference is small enough that I would choose a lower db setup then a dual fan setup with more noise just to gain 2-3c.
