Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra

build it yourself lol. I mean kits are just parts. It's not to hard to shop around for the best parts right? 😛

I think it would end up being around the same price then wouldn't it?

NO...

Here are some very good stickies on learning about WCing...

Reservoir:
http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/m...uct_Code=HDPE-BayRes&Category_Code=Res

T connector ( I got mine at Lowes)

http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/m...e_Connector&Category_Code=Barb_Fitting

Coolant: distilled water
Additives: I use Zerex racing coolant
http://www.jab-tech.com/Zerex-Racing-Super-Coolant-4oz-Bottle-pr-2958.html

HydrX:
http://www.petrastechshop.com/swhyexduco.html

Hardwarrior(far more knowledgable than me on WCing in general) recommends Hydrx as it is an additive made for WCing but only in the recommended dilutions

Now I listed alot of choices

Apogee cpu $45
120.2 rad $43
pump $ 80
tubing $10
need tube clamps... worm drive from Lowes about $5, teflon tape(wrap barbs and help with sealing) and ? barbs for the radiator(most common with plastic but I like the nickel plated brass..$ 3 plus shipping)

Total: $200 get cpu done, add a GPU MCW 60 = about $250

I started with a reservoir but dumped it and went with a T-Line...basically a T-connector to allow you to fill the loop
here is a pic

this is my T- Line

My setup?

I bought all the stuff online..I used DangerDen, Jabtech(excellent) and cooltechnica..actually they all were great t odeal with

I built the loop after spending hr talking with a friend and looking at my setup...took me a few hrs to do it the first time..wrapped all my barbs in teflon tape and put them in and connected the tubing..it was a bitch getting 7/16 masterkleer over the mcw/storm barbs....

then I filled the loop and used 5% zerex and distilled water..leak tested for 24 hrs...and then connected the PC and away I went...

HEHE..2 weeks later realized I plumbed the reservoir wrong..so I took it out and redid the loop, modded the P180 for better airflow and bought Panaflo L1A fan and fan controller.....used a T-Line and filled the loop outside of my case and leak tested again for 24hrs...

I can take out my entire loop in total from my case.....

Loop as been doing great for 2mo now...

I bought a new pump..DDC ultra w/Radiical top..this pump may not have the specs of Iwaki but it will preform really well despite what some suggest....great max head pressure and flow..with low noise and heat dump
