The vario i gave u goes to 5.

That is why i gave u that pump u dimwit!

ROFL...

*disclaimer... it is not smart calling an elite admin a dimwit!*

LOL.... okey i run for the hills now b4 he finds the ban button!..

Yeah, for the price of *FREE* I'd settle for either as well. 🙂

Generally, the vario is only $10 more than the B, which you can usually make up by shopping around for a decent deal. I had a $10 coupon from Newegg when I bought mine, so D5 vario it was.

Why an easier starter pump? Just because you don't have to replace the top immediately?

I bought my D5-B from the FS/FT's for under $40 shipped. When you compare the used market, the span between the D5 and D5-B gets even larger as everyone jumps on the "vario" bandwagon. IMHO, it's completely unneeded.

Also, I paid for that D5 from Aigo with blood, sweat and tears. Don't make me throw those godawful 3870's back into your face. The havoc those laid upon my nice working system is unforgivable.

$40 for a D5 is sweet. I'd definitely take a "B" for that too.

Easier bleed, less potential for problems... the D5 is built like a tank!

Thanks for the insight. Always appreciated.

...while we're on the subject of D5's... Do you have any plans to test Koolance' newer top? Your review of the previous Koolance top didn't show it in a great light, but I'm interested in picking up the newer version. Not only does it look great, but it also has more mounting options than either the EK or Bitspower tops.

Specifically, I want to hang my D5 from the bottom of my HD cage, but with all other D5 tops this would mean inverting the pump as well - which is a no no... The Koolance top lets you rotate the mounting bracket so you can mount it on a surface of hang it without changing the orientation of the pump itself. I'm not sure why others have not thought of that. In the case of the EK, all Eddy would have to do it add threads to top and right side of the pump top to increase the number of mounting options and make his top much more versatile.

whoa... that was a lot more than I intended to say about that subject...

I'm sure you're busy as hell with reviews, just curious if you had a new Koolance top review in the works.
