sweet tobacco or cigar

hi all,

i was wondering if anyone here knows which type/brand of tobacco/cigars has that really sweet smell.

i've smelled both sweet pipe tobaccos and cigars.

i tried one of those that come in a package of 5 or so and has that plastic tip. they smelled sweet before smoking it, but once lit, the smell of smoke was awful - not the kind i'm looking for.

any connisseurs?

Some really good sweet mini-cigars are Tatianas. They come in this little cigar case, almost like a pack of cigarettes. They'll run you about $7 for the pack, but they're quite tastey.

Or you can get basically any decent flavored pipe tobacco, and those are pretty good.

RGN and BigJ,

thanks for the replies.

now, your recommendations are for sweet *smelling*, aromatic cigars / tobaccos right?

i know some have a flavor on the actual product where the lips touch, but i'm looking for the aroma of a lit cigar / tobacco.

just double checking.

thanks,

The Tatianas definitely have a sweet smell to the tobacco as they're burning. As does the better pipe tobacco.

Your best bet is to sample some of the smaller packs of pipe tobacco. My former HS football coach would smoke pipes on the field, and boy did he have some awesome smelling tobacco.

what youre thinking of is cloves. youre looking for the cigars not cloves.

In short, the tobacco almost NEVER tastes the way it smells. You smoke cherry-flavored toboacco, the leaves will smell sweet and tasty in the can, and you will fill the room with a sweet-smelling aroma, but you will not taste it the same on your tongue.

The best tasting tobaccos (Dunhill 965, Haddo's Delight, Deacon's Downfall, etc) often don't smell so nice.

cloves taste pretty good but can mess you up quick, ie coughing up blood

if you want to smoke something sweet that really does taste good and is nice and smooth get a Hookah
