my cox got upgraded to 5mbit down/ 768K up a couple months ago...pretty nifty...i remember seeing something about verizon(i think) having plans soon wiht 30mbit down and like 2-4 up i think...100$ a month gets you that IIRC...not in my area yet though...

divide thoes numbers by 8 and you get you max in KB/s

3079/8 = 384K/s

256/8 = 32 K/s

thoes are you line max numbers, you will rarley get that espeically on uploads

my upload was 384. 384/8 = 48 my max upload was about 40-44 before now it will hit 60

My upload speeds never get up to that anymore. Usually runs around 16-24 KB/s. I used to be able to do scorching uploads. 550-600. I had seen as high as 1024. I thought that was the way it should be. My download speed fluctuates, going as high as 450 KB/s.
I never paid much attention. Kinda like gas mileage. I can't do anything about it, so I don't check it.

wow Roadrunner is $44 for 3mb dl and 384 for most people (at least the ones without the upgrade, like me). thats ridiculous

Apparently they upgraded me as well; I'm downloading a 120MB file right now at 588KB/s. Sweeeeet!
