<< Based on the same rear-drive platform as the G35 sedan that went on sale in the United States in mid-March, the 2003 2+2 coupe gets an extra 15 horsepower (275 vs. 260) and an optional six-speed manual transmission that isn?t offered on the sedan. Infiniti gets extra horsepower from the same 3.5-liter dohc V6 engine primarily through exhaust tuning. >>

Yeah baby, now that's what I'm talking about. So we know that the 350Z is at least going to get 275HP :) Too bad the M45 looks like sh!t (looks like someone slapped a bland new front end to the previous generation Q45)

God that M45 is butt ugly. Almost as ugly as what NFS4 drives (J/K) :) :D :p . G35 looks ok though.

G35 looks super in person!

BTW, what is the best sedan, Lexus 430? Q45? BMW 740, BMW 540?

From a performance/handling perspective, the 540 hands down.
From a pure luxury/stick it in drive I don't care perspective, I'd say the LS430

i think the M45 would look better if it didn't sit up so high....IMO that is the problem.

That is what I tend to think also.
I haven't driven the new Lexus 430, but the older 400s were really nice all around.
I think We need to all meet in Charlotte and test drive a bunch of cars, then do a write up...
You know, AnandTech - computer hardware and automobiles

Hey, I'm up for that ;) I'm gonna be in Charlotte next weekend anyway for my best friend's sister's birthday (I'm REALLY going so that I can hang out with best friend's sister's best friend :)) Confusing?

the G35 coupe reminds me of the Z350, but that is a contender for my next new car. Looks sweet.

The G35 looks really nice, and is a very tempting package with a 6-speed and 275 bhp for under $30K. I actually like the styling better than the Z. The M45 is pug-fugly, though.

Um, maybe no one's noticed, but Nissan owns Infiniti, and guess what the G35 was based on? The M45 does look ugly, but maybe that's the price you pay for getting that 340 HP V8 in a car in the low 40's (Q45 is like in the 60's).

the m45 is butt ugly, looks like a funky front end tacked on a 92-96 camry body with some new rims

OMG, those are some ugly @ss cars.

Infiniti's G35 is RWD and V6 for $30K, but I've heard it rides like cr@p from auto magazines.

What do you expect? It's a Nissan.

Can you be more specific? And what are the car magazines that did not speak highly of the G35?

WOW, G35 coupe is gorgeous. Why didn't they make the sedan's rear end like this? I know my new dream car. Looks like a cross between Z35O, G35 and the new GTR concept. Very nice indeed.
M45 is a repackaged Nissan Cedric, I think from Japan. Actually it has better interior in Japan too. Anyways, yeah, it's butt ugly. That styling is from the 80s. that's not the sort of retro I wanna see. Of course, since they already make them in japan, doesn't cost much to stick in Q45 interior and rebadge it. Maybe they'll find some suckers. It's funny how they don't phase out old versions of cars in Japan like they do here. They still make the 1st Gen Q45, and sell 2 gens of Sentras at the same time.

I knew that Infinity is Nissan's luxury line and I was gonna say that perhaps it had the same chassis as the 350 but, the article stated it was based on the same platform as the G35 sedan.

Based on the same rear-drive platform as the G35 sedan that went on sale in the United States in mid-March,...

Actually, Z350 and G35 sedan are based on the same platform. Kinda like the old J30 and 300ZX. So no suprise that G35 coupe looks like Z350. I love this G35 car :)

I hope they still have time to change the look of M45. It just looks like a Korean brand car!

They are not going to change the M45. M45 is just a rebadged Nissan Gloria from Japan which first came out in 1999 as a 2000 model
See here
The whole point of bringing it here is to give US consumers more choice without having to spend money developing a brand new car. That's why they can sell them affordably, because they pass on the R&D savings to consumer.

the G35 C looks pretty good, but i'm not liking the styling of the M45. The M45's front looks passable, but the rear of that car has styling back from the 1980's.

oh well, since they are Nissans i know the performance on both will rock! :D
