I have an aux input on my 3 year old JVC deck. I'm not sure if I could pick the track using my deck, but whats the diff between browsing with your ipod vs. your deck? At least you could bring the IPOD up to steering wheel level to keep more attention on the road.

Well, for starters:
-Most HUs display text much larger and brighter than the iPod does. Not a fault of the iPod; each is designed for a different application.
-If your car has steering-wheel control of the radio, that will in turn control the iPod. Same with passenger-side and rear-seat control.

As soon as the 2005 model Alpine HUs come out, I'm replacing the Blose POS in my Vette with one. Hopefully Alpine will release a double-DIN sized one here in the states this year (Didn't last year, although there were several models out in Japan).

well i've seen pictures of track listings and stuff on a big display, but i guess that with the higher end alpine models that have an lcd. its supposed to work with their entire model line eventually i think

The KCA-420i can be added to any 2004 Alpine Ai-NET head unit. Now you have the option of enjoying your iPod in your car, alongside the benefits of other in-vehicle electronics applications, such as a Multi-Channel 5.1 Dolby Digital® systems, CD Changer, Navigation or whatever is your personal choice of in-car media.
