Sweet, my adaptec 2400a raid controller card arrived.

Yay.

Now I'm waiting for my 3ware 7506-4lp card to arrive soon and I hopefully will beable to pickup a 7506-8 card off ebay, problem is the prices are in excess of $200 which IMO is too much for a card that has no box, no cables or no drivers... Got the 4LP card brand new, sealed in box for $150, which is what I'm willing to pay for the 8-port card with out all of the other stuff.


Basically speaking I'm willing to pay $150 for the 8port version if it doesn't come with box, manuals, drivers, and cables and $200 with all of that stuff.. I'm still thinking of where I should use my new adaptec 2400a card.. It wouldn't be very suitable in a SAN now would it?

As long as you're not gonna do RAID 5, you got a good deal. Otherwise, you can't beat an Areca.

Whats so good about the areca? I see that those are removable drive bays, is it a package of some sort, don't quite get it.
