I'm not and I'm the 1st to fully admit to the fact that I'm overweight. I have no self control or discipline. have to somehow get back on track and dump a few pounds.

So, which are you, pregnant, nursing or 6 ft tall?

I'm a woman with no self control and fully admit it, what else do you want me to say ?

I prefer myself thinner and at some point I'll self motivate myself into shedding some weight again.

btw, I'm allowed to have opinions on what I think looks good, I admire women like the 5ft nine inch tall elizabeth Hurley.. who weighs only 117 pounds

Of course you're allowed to have opinions. That one quoted above just sounds hypocritical. S'all good.

My current weight is fairly recent and in part a result of drug treatment for bad menopause symptoms. I have been under 125 in the very recent past and will probably go lower yet again once I regain a commitment to some sort of exercise plan.

Best of luck to you with that!

for awhile it seems just trying tyo regain some hormonal balance has felt more important than anything else. Hot flashes, night sweats yuck, things were real rough for quite awhile.

I'm going to check out a couple of gyms that are close to my work, I'd like to take a spinning class and get a membership at a place that offers steam room and a few more amenities than the rather spartan superfitnesss I used to belong to.

Some drugs screw with your metabolism. My friend has started to get off some (medical reasons), cleaned up his diet and started to train properly again (injury) and has dropped 33lbs!

Spinning is an awesome work out

I'm in to winter season hurdling conditioning and ran my 1st mile :p. Clocked in 8mins55seconds I felt battered around the last 1/3rd but kept on going. Tough stuff for a non distance guy. Sprints are SOOOO much easier.

When I was thinner the night sweats/hot flashes were brutal, my joints hurt and hurt all the time, I couldn't get comfortable to sleep and it sucked, I just grew sick of the gym.

this time around I'm going to plan better, a gym that's located directly near my job is better than having to come home, change and travel 1/2 hour each way to exercise after work, particularly since I'm still struggling with insominia, many days I go to work on 3 hours sleep. The sleep thing messes with one's weight I notice when I can get 3-4 nights of good sleep I drop 5 pounds almost immediately.

and who cooks for you ?

I cook and do dishes. I'm also the one working while my wife stays home and watches our kids.

BTW, last night I made stir fry with New York Strip and Chinese sugar peas. Food was prepped, cooked, and delicious and all the pans cleaned in under 20 minutes. The night before was Florentine style pizza with home made dough and imported mozzarella cheese cooked on a baking stone to get an authentic crust. Tonight it's steak with zuccini squash seered in a white wine and butter sauce.............or Costco hot dogs depending if we to the pumpkin patch or not. :)

I personally LOVE the fact that I don't Have to deal with cooking, I cooked for other people most of my adult life, to me, this is like the ultimate luxury, my husband does an awesome job ! No hot dogs for me, ever, a quickie meal might be pulled pork with BBQ sauce on a fresh roll or a whole grain wrap sandwich.

Ah. Try it pan fried... be generous with the olive oil and butter in the pan, then coat the bottom fairly substantially in salt and pepper. Then toss in the asparagus, roll it around a few minutes until it darkens, and then take it out. Much better than steamed IMO. Or, throw it on the BBQ... but pan fried is the way to go :)

I prefer steamed Veggies for their nutrional value. I'm not into gourmet cooking, just simple dishes that taste good and are healthy. It's not hard or time consuming to make good healthy dishes that tastes great.

Indeed. A gym you will use is infinitely better then one you won't.

I have the luxory of trainig 2x a day Mon-Thur and train single sessios Fri and Saturday. Mon to Fri I have a gym that is about 30second walk from my office building. I can get in a good 45minute work out. Go back finish the day, work 3-4hrs (rest time :p) then go train later in the evening. I train with 3 guys in our office so it is very easy to train and be motivated and I'm their coach. Other evening sessions I lift with people or run at an athletics club and we all push each other harder then any single of us could manage on our own.

It's all about training with people
