I just got a Arcan XL35R jack from costco for 95 bucks, the only difference is the color, its Red. Its 3 1/2 ton jack and it weights 109 lbs so its not portable, but to keep around your garage its great. Especially for the price.

Googling around shows this to be a very decent jack.


So if any of you are looking for a jack go to costco!

Nice, my friend just got that same one. He paid $120 for it though. Great jack.

You can get a much lighter aluminum jack for $70-80 at Harbor Freight. This is a normal price for a jack like that

Long low-profile, with a lifting height of over 21"? Most low-profile jacks angle up and hit the side of my car after going under about 6 inches.

Got the XL35 a few months ago, stays 3.5" high for a good distance. Works perfect on my lowered car and was able to lift it JUST high enough to remove the transmission.

Nice deal. I nabbed my craftsman floor jack, 2 3 ton stands and a floor dolly for 105 during father's day.

Im not too fond of the rhino ramps. The set I have tend to slide a few inches before the weight of the car keeps them planted.

^ Me either, I put them against the Lip of my garage and that worked the best but they look like they are buckingling, like the outsides and bowing out. Its a 2ton Ramp my car is ~3600 then divided by half since only half the car is on the ramps. I never felt safe under the ramps.

I always had two scissor jacks at the jack points with some weight on them. As backup.

Now since I lowered on Z-Springs I cant do the ramps with out scraping so I just use the scissor jacks to lift the front high enough to slide the ramps in then lower it on the ramps.

Now with the Jack all I need to do is Possibly use the scissor jack on one side so I can slide the Jack under the car far enough to reach the lift point, Lift the car put two Jack Stands on the jack points, and then do the same in the rear. Lift it up via the Diff and then two jack stands.

Now I can finally do level oil changes, and If I want I could lift the front up then lower it to get some more out.

resurrecting this tread as I'm looking for a Jack to use on my GTO (fairly low to the ground)

What's the consensus on this jack?

Ok... just be sure to get the replacement warranty with them...:thumbsup: (pays for itself the first time you need it)

Also be sure to get a pair of jackstands to go along with it and use them... :)

I've been looking at the one myself. Harbor Freight just opened a store here and I'm thinking I might pick this one up. My Craftsman 2 ton is wearing out. It doesn't raise up as high as it used to and I'm afraid one of these days it might let go on me when I've got the car up in the air. I think I'm going to pick this one up.

20+ yr old hydraulic jack here -never would trust it from day one-always use stands or something.

I also have one of those from costco (mine's blue) and they're amazing. There is no 'regular' consumer aluminum jack that comes even close to comparing to it.

Yes, it's heavy. It's not made for bring around everywhere you go, although it's fine to throw in the trunk/bed (TIE IT DOWN) to use on the side of the road.

As another poster said, it's lower than almost any other jack and very easy to use


For a sub-$100 jack you'd be hard pressed to find something better IMO..




.....If only I could find some good quality rubber-pad-topped jackstands that are cheap.

Also - a tip, the jack works fine if you only use 'half' the handle (~2 ft vs 4ft.....) I mean, if you're pushing the capacity then the long handle probably helps; but I've had no problem lifting a full size truck without needing to reattach the 2nd half

tempted. i dont have costco membership but i can find one.

i wanted a the HF because i didn't know too many $100 jacks that lifted 20inches other then bottle jacks. I have the 1.5ton Cman low profile, works on but sometimes not low enough and always not high enough. maxes out last time at 15-17inchs.

the costco one ( if they still have it ) is 3.5 inch~ 21 and 3/8 VS
HF's 2 and 7/8 ~ a hair over 20.

that half inch might make a difference.

I have one of these, I got it due to the really really low saddle height (less than 3 inches). I've had a 3 ton sears jack for years and still use it, but the low one is great for low cars. The handle could be longer though.

It's not quite as heavy as my sears jack, but it's still heavy as hell...
