Read the specs & drool:

AMD 2500 Barton
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
2 512meg sticks of Kingston 2700 DDR
2 80 gig HD's set up as RAID 1 (older IDE HD's with Rockethead SATA adapters)
Zalman PSU, CPU cooler, VGA card heat sink
120 mm case fan

Installed the software & moved a bunch of her old files over last night, it sure is fast:D

Haven't OC'd it yet...

I got pi$$ed @ my last HD failure & put a RAID 1 in my system, & wife (who connects to VPN from home & does a lot of work from home) asked me for a different system with a RAID 1 too.

Evercase 10 bay @ Newegg

It doesn't glow or fly or anything:D

Still looks like a$$, cause I don't have a black keyboard, CDR, floppy, mouse yet... Next on my list:D

Want a black internal card reader too, we'll use it as the digicam downloading station...

Not enough room for a RAID in the SFF she already had, & it was noisey (her system is in the bedroom) moving the Shuttle SFF to oldest daughter... put a quieter fan in it too.

Wife does computer related stuff @ work, she like to brag about what I build for her:D

I bought an Xbox this month (spent as much on accessories for it as the damn system), so I figured it was time for a play pretty for her.

I have an extra A7N8X Deluxe left after the buying orgy, will build something for myself shortly...

Yep, note the extensive use of Zalman components, would like add a controller to the 120mm fan.

(note to self, remember that extra Zalman CPU cooler you bought with speed controller you can hook up to the 120mm case fan?)

Just installed the extra fan controller & brought the 120mm fan down to about 1/2 speed, loudest component is the CDR now...

sounds like the one i just built.. well, close anyway.

I used an aopen Ak79g-400VN board since it was $85.00 and its working great.

I'm overclocked to 2.35 ghz.. 206X11.5 with the barton core 2500+ processor

My next system will be my current transformed into a mini system. I'm tired of hearing my fans :) Only dilemma I face is getting 3 hard drives in it. I guess I'll have to have an external case for the drives.

RAID 1, she keeps spouting nonsense about all her lost files when I tinker with her system... (she really does lose data when I tinker with her system, she has the software tweaked & the VPN set up (hours of work))

I just had the HD's laying around from hot deals, have a 120 gig & a 60 gig lying around now...

Evercase owns, 2500+ owns, A7N8X DX owns, nice rig :) I personally prefer the white evercase for $47.99 since it's got a Sparkle PSU and front 1394, audio, usb.

Why not get DDR 3200? I know you're not overclocking her rig yet, but if in the future if you were to do so it wont be stable.
Should have thought ahead and got the DDR400

The Zalman parts are all nice :D
