How long have they been on the clearance table? I think that they were discontinued 3 months ago.

FYI (I was curious, don't know if anyone else was) "Lagniappe" is a word derived from Louisiana French which means, "an unexpected surprise, a treat that you did not anticipate." Learned something new today.

Saw some famous amos cookies at an OD but desided to pass up even at $.88. I didn't bother to check the date... they just looked old and dusty. I decided I'd save my money for some mall fresh Mrs. Fields white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.... mmmm.... cookies.

All out of the chocolate chip and chocolate chip with pecans at my local OD. They still had lots of oatmeal raisin but they are $1.88. I deciphered the good till date on my box and it was April, 2001. Cookies are actually in a hermetically sealed aluminized bag so they are ok. No bugs on these babies!

Hey dman, do you know what Tchoupitoulas is derived from? :D

I was afraid someone would ask that. I looked yesterday and it wasn't on the first page of the search engine so I gave up. I guess I'm not that curious, but, now you've gone and done it. Best I could do was find:

"Tchoupitoulas, by the way, is the name of a major street along the Mississippi River and of a Louisiana Indian tribe." and " [The street "Tchoupitoulas" is derived from the famous marsh-dwelling Indian tribe of the same name.] "

All were variations along that line. Still don't know what the word actually means. I'll still be able to sleep tonight though.

BTW, ran across:

Gumbo Pages
(There were variations on this one as well).
