Those look like crappy serrated knives, but for $6 they might get the job done. I can see myself purchasing them at that price just to have some more knives around. However, if this is going to be your primary set, and if you have the money, I suggest spending $50 or $100 on a set of regular non-serrated knives with a sharpener; you'll probably be able to use them for 10 years. (...And if you're going to use something like that for 10 years, you might as well have nicer ones.)

I think that this is a good deal just for the wood block. Then you have a place to keep knives if you only buy them individually.
