So much for the AMD dx12 advantage then!

They have DX12 partially functional in a beta which is probably aimed at other parts of the game like backend code and server setup. Already a major step.

DX11 is clearly what the industry is used to, can use more efficiently, the Alpha only supported DX11.
so I guess DX12 is after DX11 on the priority list for them, so you can't really judge it by this Beta, but, it's worrying for DX12 future, considering we are talking about DICE which implemented Mantle early on and pushed for the new APIs more than most;

also one aspect that I find worrying about the new APIs, once games drop DX11 is compatibility with less popular hardware (older DX12 compatible and much newer cards, like 5 years after the game is released)

That's probably one point why game companys will like DX12 so much. 5 years later the new hardware will run old games like crap with a lot of bugs and devs will tell you they can't do anything as game wasn't designed for this new hardware. If you want to play this game again buy our new shiny remastered version for just 50$, when you own the old version;)

The gap between the RX 480 and the 1060 shrinks in DX12 relative to DX11, so the advantage is still very much there.

1080P Ultra:
DX11: RX 480 is 12% slower.
DX12: RX 480 is 1% slower.

1440P Ultra:
DX11: RX 480 is 17% slower.
DX12: RX 480 is 9% slower.

4K Ultra:
DX11: RX 480 is 14% slower.
DX12: RX 480 is 9% slower.

Overall when switching to DX12 from DX11, RX 480 gains 9% performance relative to the 1060 across all resolutions at Ultra settings. Of course this is all rather irrelevant as long as DX11 is faster for Nvidia (and AMD at 4K).

This is exactly my point as well, but every time i try to bring that one up the only thing i get is angry amd fans yelling at me.
