That is the plastic melting. It is 4 wires, not one, but they may not be able to handle it well. As I said, the 150 W limit is simply a (probably PCIe) specification (6-pin connector only has 2 +12 V wires*, so 75 W limit for that makes sense), and the 529 W is the connector limit.
* The PCIe/ATX (whichever is appropriate) specification for the 6-pin connector has 3 ground and 2 +12 V connectors. Most PSUs have 3 +12 V wires, but most cards only use 2.
