Swarm of flies. No dead animal in sight. What gives?

That's a swarm of houseflies (zoomed in). In a winter month, though it IS a bit warm today than usual. But why are they having a party here and there is no dead animal or heap of trash in the vicinity? What got them all to agree and assemble here?

They'll often swarm to warm places in cooler months if it's not so cold as to kill them off. They especially love dark surfaces.

I had this happen once around 15 years ago and never could figure out why. Just like you there was no dead animal smell or garbage in the area. Weird for sure but it never happened again.

There is absolutely nothing there. That's at least 20 to 25 feet above ground.

I heard and saw in movies that Evil Spirits are often heralded by the presence of flies.

That kinda makes sense coz the person in the space outside which the flies gathered is not well liked. He is kinda morally/spiritually filthy.
