swapping p4 2.4 for athlon 3000+

I dont really game, and i happy with the performance of my p4, but i got this new mobo/processor on a trade, so i was going to swap it out since its supposed to be a step up.seems like it may be more of a pain then anything though.my tower is swap friendly either.is this a pointless swap for me? ahhhhhhhh help plz

as long as you dont have a dell or some wierd propietary case it should be fine. Just go slow and make sure you are grounded. Shouldnt take more than an hour or two.

you also should have to reinstall windows.

I would sure do it if it's just the effort of switching out parts and reinstalling windows.
