Swapping one nVidia card for another - Uninstall first?

My BFG Asylum Ti 4200 video card's fan crapped out today (it's almost stopped) and I called the company and I'm RMAing the card. This is a geforce4 card. I have a geforce2 card in my other box that I'm going to remove and run in my main box for a couple days until my replacement BFG card arrives. Should I uninstall the card before swapping out the card? The nVidia 4.0.7.2 driver is currently installed and I figure it might come up as being the driver for the geforce2 card if I just swap without removing in Device Manager. I'll be swapping to an MSI geforce2 Pro 64 MB DDR videocard. What's the best practice?

Edit: I'm running Win2000.

I uninstalled and the new card was recognized and the 4.0.7.2 driver was already set up. Pretty straightforward. One of my programs wouldn't work that runs at startup and I had to point the stupid OS to where two files were. Other than that it went not too badly after I figured out how to jam the video card in the slot.
