I bought a soltek sl-75dvr-2 motherboard and have it installed with windows XP home edition and AMD 1600XP processor. I cannot get the PCI slots to install any hardware. I now find out that their boards may have a compatibility issue with the AMD Xp processors. I have tried to flash the bios but I get an error message that the program file's BIOS-lock string does not match with my system. I am tired of messing with it. If I sent the board back to Newegg(where I got it) and got another motherboard, say a shuttle ak31v3.1, How would I install it? Is it just a matter of taking the cpu and memory out of the old board and putting it in the new board, hooking up all the cables, putting the video card in the slot and turning it on? Or do I have to reformat the hard drive, reinstall windows xp and run the new bios setup? Or can I just hook everything up and run the bios setup without having to reinstall windows xp and everything else?:disgust:
