Swapping motherboard - win xp - cant find the how-to not reinstall document - HELP plz

Hey guys,

A friend has an A64 with motherboard on the way and doesn't want to have to reinstall XP. I know sometimes when you swap out the motherboard xp will play nice and upgrade/detect everything correctly. Other times, I know it'll just freak out and refuse to even boot into windows.

There was a document that someone made, I thought it was a sticky thread but I guess someone took it down and I couldn't find it using the search function.

Does anyone know the document I'm referring to? Can you point me to it? or perhaps paste the procedure for swapping motherboard without having to reinstall xp. I can't remember what stuff you were supposed to uninstall, remove, etc.

Thanks.

Ha Ha indeed! You should rethink your solution and reinstall the OS. The reasons why are legion.
Not when you have things set up just right. A little lagginess here and there from not being a new install often doesn't compare to spending hours reconfiguring software.
