Swapping Chip Questions.....

I'm getting ready to swap out a SC 3700+ to an X2 3800+. I have another DC system, but, I built that system from the ground up and installed XP pro fresh with the build of course. My questions concern simply swapping from SC to DC. Will windows recognize it correctly and will everything run smoothly after the swap? Any procedures which need to be followed to make the transition smoothly?

someone on this forum has done it with no problems. Just do a search on it. Other then needing proper drivers for your board it shouldnt be much of a problem.

Already have the AMD drivers as I have another DC here and one at work.....my main concern is windows recognizing it correctly and any problems with games/programs/etc......

there are slight bugs when you play games, but microsoft has the fixes for them. As for applications and such, i have had no problems in windows xp Sp2 and in WinXP64. My system did seem a bit faster running winxp64 tho. If u can get a demo copy, i would suggest u trying it out.
