Swapping ATI video card, no need to reinstal drives.... right?

Well, I need help again.

I will be swapping video cards among 2 different desktops. Both computers are running catalyst 3.5 as vide card drivers. One of the card is a Radeon 8500 retail, the original 8500. The other video card is a Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9000 standard (not pro) with VIVO.

I am assuming I should just be able to swap the video cards and then I should be all set (obviously, install/uninstall the WDM rage theater driver before the cards swap)

Do you think it will work, or I am safer uninstalling everything? Should I try catalyst 3.8?

Thanks

Alex

always uninstall the old drivers and reinstall the new ones. or get some sort of driver removal programs.

I've done this before. Remove the current card from device manager, but not the drivers. Then shut-down and swap cards. Re-start and let Windows find the new card and install the drivers.

Allways works fine for me.

Sounds like the easiest... thanks!
