I'm interested to see if anyone has benchmarks that compare the benefits/drawbacks of using a swap partition over a swap file with the Linux kernel, specifically under Fedora Core 7. In the past I had stuck with partitions, but am tempted to try a swap file this time.
A related question: do you use static or dynamic swap files with XP/Vista? I never use anything but a static file size, as I believing paging suffers dramatically when Windows allocates more|less size, and fragmentation causes even greater issues.
