Swap motherboard with same model, reinstall?

I tried searching google, but I could never find a clear answer

My motherboard died on me, and I ran my operating system on an ssd, and a raid 0 with two hard drives. I bought the same motherboard, exact same model, asus maximus II formula in order to run the raid 0 again, but do I have to reinstall the operating system again? If so, how can I do this without having to do a "clean install" or without deleting any information?
thanks

You shouldn't have to, but things can get tricky with RAID, especially RAID 0. What I always do is keep a backup clone of my RAID array on a single drive. If anything should happen to the array, I can rebuild the array, boot of that single drive and image it back to the array.

With imaging software. I use Acronis, but there are free programs like CloneZilla that should be able to accomplish the same task.

Correct, you just need one large enough to accommodate whatever it is you have on there at the time of imaging.

It's always prudent to "clone in" to a new system, so an exact copy will still exist if things go horribly wrong somehow. Especially with other people's stuff, lol, betcha don't need to ask how I know...
