SW to AMD HW RAID

Ryzen 2400G on ASUS B450M; Win 10 64 and apps are on a SATA SSD, all data on two 8TB HDDs RAID-1 mirrored via Storage Space. I had used (and preferred) hardware RAID on previous Intel systems, but when I put this one together 6 months ago I hurried through setup and went with AHCI SATA (CMS enabled, so not full UEFI) for all storage. Now I'm familiar with the UEFI options and willing to reinstall to make the most of what the mobo/UEFI/Ryzen can do.

I gather that AMD's latest RAID drivers have fixed a problem that earlier versions had with the May Win10 update. Everything on the Storage Space pair is backed up and I'm prepared to clean reinstall Win10 plus drivers from UEFI USB. The AMD RAID configuration looks straightforward -- but does anyone here using AMD's hardware RAID have any additional tips for setup or operation with Win 10 ?

I think you're mistaken about what is hardware RAID. None of the RAID options provided by your motherboard chipset are hardware RAID. Very few motherboards have hardware RAID, and it's always provided by a secondary SATA (or SAS) controller. The RAID provided by most motherboards is software RAID, and its only advantage over using your operating system's own software RAID implementation is that the one provided by your motherboard is understood by the UEFI and thus it can find and load an operating system stored on an array. This does not seem to apply to your current use case.

I tried AMD raid 0 through the bios and performance was horrible with ssd's. Just use windows storage spaces unless you get a proper raid card.
