svideo problems

so I have a thinkpad t23 with an S3 supersavage IXC video card, and i'm trying to use an svideo to RCA cable to display movies on a television screen. The problem is, in my display properties I cannot use my 2nd display as my primary display, and in my "special" S3 driver settings, I can not choose TV as an output display. It has "LCD" "CRT" and "TV", but CRT and TV are both grayed out (can't change them), with CRT and LCD selected and TV unchecked. I can't change any of them. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. BTW I updated the drivers

just tried the cord out on some friends' laptops. it worked fine on a t43 but did not work on a dell inspiron 9300
