SVGA to NTSC converter advice

My son races Grand Prix 3 professionally (check: Joshua's current standing. I need to record races and other sessions for analysis. I think what I need is an SVGA to NTSC converter, but there are a lot and the price varies a LOT. What's a good one and where can I get it cheap? It needs to be able to handle 1024x768, hopefully at 85Hz. FWIW: his video card is an Asus V6800 Deluxe. It has S-video out, but unfortunately not concurrent with the monitor signal.
