Hey, I am back again. Posting from inside linux! I have Slackware 8 back on here and noticed that when I first loaded this bad boy up, it started to list all the good kernel stuff from almost SVGA mode with high res text and even a picture of Tux on the top of the page. But now since I have upgraded to the 2.4.9 kernel, I no longer have this option. Every time I enable Video text mode under Consoles, I never see anything when I startup. I tried changing the lilo config to svga = ask and choose from a menu, but it is just not the same. Has anybody been able to properly configure this or am I the only one?

When you compile the kernel you have to compile in VESA Framebuffer support. That'll get you SVGA Tux and text again.
